As Patron of Jamiat us Salihaat, along with founder Mufti Jameelur Rahman, we have been improving the lives of girls of Jamiat us Salihaat for the last ten years. It is a project close to my heart and would mean so much to me if you help us reach our target goal to transform the lives of these disenfranchised girls.<\/strong><\/p>\n Muslim women<\/strong>\u00a0are among the poorest, most educationally disenfranchised and politically marginalised group in India.\u00a0They suffer from low literacy levels; as low as 19%, less than half of that of women from other communities.<\/p>\n Young girls, especially orphans, in Muslim communities face considerable challenges as citizens of India. Our mission is to\u00a0nurture and develop Muslim orphan girls<\/strong>\u00a0to achieve their full\u00a0<\/em>potential in a\u00a0safe and secure, faith based<\/strong>\u00a0environment;\u00a0to become confident and active citizens of India and serve the Muslim community and the wider society.<\/p>\n Currently there are over 900 girls in attendance, 40% of whom are orphans<\/p>\n Their accommodation and sanitary conditions are inadequate. We welcome general sadaqah and zakah donations to this cause. Alternatively, consider sponsoring one of our girls for a whole year with a one off donation of Rs 10,000\/annum or Rs.1,000 a month<\/p>\n Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace ad blessings be upon him, said, \u201cThe best house among the Muslims is the one in which an orphan is treated well. The worst house among the Muslims is the one in which an orphan is treated badly.
